East Village 1990’s. After the demise of “The Klugmen”, (later renamed “Savalas”) featuring Kevin Landers on guitar and lead vocals, Whiting Tennis formed a band from the remaining members John Devore and Pete Moe. He temporarily removed to Seattle from 1998 -2000 to record Hello Dolly in the Chop House practice rooms but returned to play with them under the name “The Scholars”, with Hiroshi Kimura taking over on bass.
